DH and I travel quite a bit for work and it's always business class. We also fly quite a bit for personal reasons and always seem to have points etc to get upgraded. My guess is that everyone is business/first class is either flying for work or has been upgraded based on the points they have accrued flying for work.

Sure some people are actually paying out of pocket but they are insanely rich I'm guessing. My last business trip was to HK and I fly first class (fully flexible) on Cathay Pacific and the ticket was a whopping $15,000.

Yes I have both. I also don't live in DC.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to go to South Africa for work with a client.
The client insisted I accompany him and said to make the arrangements and just add them to his monthly billing.
I found the appropriate flight and told him it would be $2,500/ticket. His reply was "What is that? Cattle???"
He said check out Business Class and let me know how much.
Business Class was $15,500! He said to book it.
It was a great experience but, to this day, I can't say it was justifiable.

Why would you waste $15K on first-class travel? You don't even make much money. Unless those are free upgrades, welcome to always being in the rat race and never achieving wealth.

Then, "LOL," that's not at all related to what OP asked, which was about PERSONAL TRAVEL. Do you know how to read?

(Psst, the answer is clearly "no")

You never indicated in your post that you're not paying for it. You're just lousy at communication, I guess. Not surprising you're in middle management.

I might be lousy but you are plain rude and angry. I think you are middle-aged who needs anger management while I am young lousy middle manager.

HHI approx 200k and I was traveling by myself for the first time in years and the journey was going to be 16 hours. I had done a ton of coach travel, for both work & personal reasons, in the past two months and I was just tired. The bump up to first class was only $250, so I paid it. I was surrounded by people clearly much wealthier than myself, but it was a nice indulgence for once.

Now we are making fun of foreign people on this board? Time to go.
You must be happy that there is someone for you to vote this next election.
