Help me with my list

OP said she/he is IB for Marie Reed, and is not interested in the immersion track. I think Marie Reed IB non-immersion is as safe as any other school that OP could list.

I think the list as is is sufficient. SWW is a commute and West won't have anything to offer a gifted student until 3rd grade. They are also undergoing a huge transition right now and I would wait for the dust to settle. I can't speak for the other two schools but if commute is an issue then you have a decent list.

Marie Reed (IB)
Cleveland
Sheapard
Murch
Hearst
Creative Minds
Inspired teaching
Bridges
Center city - shaw

What else should I be looking at for 2016-2017 (Rising 2nd grader with a 2 year old sibling)

If close to home is important (and commuting for schools is a pain, so I agree it should be), most of the schools on your list should not be on it. I would take most of the schools off and add Seaton and th English program at Cleveland. What is your IB school, OP?

Re the post about kids in non dual language in cleveland not doing as well-- i dont think its as clear cut as you think. The kids are doing great in both tracks. There are a lot of english language learners in the dual track, who naturally lag behing in reading in english. The teachers on both sides are great. There is also no screen for ability to get into the spanish track, so kids of all levels are in it. Very few in my child's K class were affluent out of bounds kids, but that might be changing due to the tremendous demand for bilingual.

If you're willing to travel to Inspired Teaching you should also add Lee. Your 2nd grader will almost certainly get in and that will pull your PK3 kid in too.

As data, this year Garrison made it all the way through to the Round 3 (post round 2) people for pre-K 3, pretty early, back in the middle-end of June.

What about Meridan PCS? That could be a safety.

1. Murch
2. Hearst
3. Inspired Teaching
4. Creative Minds
5. Shepard
6. Cleveland
7.Center City
8. Bridges
9. Marie Reed

This is based on what you shared in the previous thread.

Thank you! Is there any chance for murch or Hearst?

Better chance at Hearst than at Murch, but not a great chance at either. Hearst is a little closer, and also will be done with its renovation, whereas Murch will be just starting.

I don't think there is much chance at Hearsr.

Agree on the slight to no chance at Hearst.
