| PP here. Seaton is pretty tough to get into as well. Garrison is the only school i think you have a pretty good chance at in the neighborhood (though i know a lot of people were shut out of PK3 at garrison this year in the initial lottery results - not sure how much of the waitlist they've now gone through). |
Wouldn't you just pick Marie Reed inbound over lottery for garrison? |
That's a good point about the test scores including dual language. She's in a G&T school now but now dual language and I don't want to start her in 2nd grade. I'll have to visit and see. |
Wait - is she in second grade, and automatically in Marie Reed? Then yeah. |
Yes |
|
I'd add Seaton, Thomson, and SWW at Francis Stevens (elementary). Maybe also West, if you're willing to commute up to CM?
|
| And I would look at all those as compared to Marie Reed, and drop them from your list if you like MR better. |
| If you are IB for Marie Reed, you're probably fine. Having said that, I would add Seaton just in case you get a terrible number. It's much nicer to be in somewhere in Round 1, even if it's your 12th pick. |
| You will get into Bridges at 2nd grade. It's easier than for preschool, which will pull in the younger child. We send our son there and love it, so that's just to say, you have one true safety on your list. Also, many DCUM posters are parents of preschoolers which is a different admissions game than later years (harder at some schools, easier at others). So look at your stats for 2nd grade when ordering your list. Having two will help you (one can pull the other in to a school.) |

I would go to the school expo in December too and ask each schools how they plan to deal with a child who is gifted.
Creative minds is probably the best choice since they have such small classes and can differentiate per child. I would add seaton. Would not add Garrison. What was your IB school? |
Thanks. I'm liking creative minds the best so far online. Our IB is Marie Reed |
That's good to know. Thanks. Are you happy at Bridges? |
I will look into those. Thanks |
I'm a CMI parent, I followed your other post, I think you will love our program. Good luck! |
Thanks! Fingers crossed. |
