Dartmouth is it really going downhill?

^^ the bottom line - fairly, or unfairly - is that the negative press about the frat culture has hurt Dartmouth. Many people who were tempted to endure the cold winters and relative seclusion of the school for its Ivy label are thinking twice. I'm not saying their right or wrong, just that the negative press has hurt the school's image.

Which is odd considering Penn has had more negative press (at least in my perspective) regarding the toxic culture, student mental health, hard drugs, suicides, etc and yet Dartmouth is looked at as being the most 'diminished' ivy?

I think there is some truth to this.

But I also think that A) some people really like the Greek lifestyle and B) for every person who is turned off by the bad press, there are ten Tiger Moms who would leap at the opportunity to get their children into an ivy.
