Anyone watching the US annihilate Japan?

Shallow question from a non-soccer fan - why do most of the Japanese players have short/boyish hair?

My 9.5 year old son was absolutely convinced Japan's goalie was a male. It didn't matter what I said. He didn't believe me. He kept asking me why somebody didn't check .

It wasn't whiny criticism. It was legitimate. They beat Germany and Japan playing a completely different system and style.

Winners win.

Go Tribe class of 1988!

Yes. William & Mary has hyped this connection up.

Great discussion opportunity, obviously. My son's friend said the same thing and it led to an interesting conversation about why on earth he thought he should get to what a woman "should" look like. Sounds like some of the PP might want to have that conversation with themselves.

Fantastic game. It was the most watched soccer game in the US, ever! Go, women in sports!

So did Sydney Leroux get the fake breasts before or after she realized she'd barely get her ass off the bench?

Your son's friend sounds like he is very perceptive.

I have a girl crush on Alex Morgan. Wish I looked as pretty as her after 90 mins of soccer.

Well --since she didn't really do much-including even running towards the ball the last 3 games-- it was easy to not get too messed up for the post game photos.

Oh, pipe down. We did annihilate them. Eff them, with their penalty kick victory 4 years ago. You'd think they'd have learned - they may catch us the first time, but in the end, they get pounded.

Geez why so bitter. The U.S. didn't play very well four years ago. They've owned Japan at the Olympics however. And "learned" what? Japanese soccer has come a long way, but it's not like they're a traditional powerhouse. Pretty sure they're typically considered the underdog vs the U.S.

Thrilled for our ladies! Particularly after all the criticism from former players and coaches.
