Anyone watching the US annihilate Japan?

The word choice in the thread title makes me uncomfortable. But, good for the team, and the coach who was subjected to such whiny criticism throughout.

Go USA. They were a team that would not be denied. They ended the game in the first 16 minutes. Way to go.

It wasn't whiny criticism. It was legitimate. They beat Germany and Japan playing a completely different system and style.

Just caught the end but it sounded like a good game and go USA for winning World Cup.

Shallow question from a non-soccer fan - why do most of the Japanese players have short/boyish hair?

Is the coach the sister of the guy at SYA?

Agree with this. In fact it's amazing that we have good relations with Japan after the bad treatment in both directions. Pearl Harbor, atomic bombs, internment camps, poor treatment of POWs...

But the game was amazing to watch.
