School counselor giving my child advice with which I strongly disagree

A counselor at my school was berated by a parent for not giving her child appropriate advice. It turned out the kid lied to the counselor to play his divorced parents off one another. The parent was so harsh and the counselor had just been doing her job with emoathy. There often is another side to the story...
