Women don't need shoes. Women want shoes. It's a manifestation of their desire to be attractive to men.
Now if you're running out money, you may also have to deal with a shopping addiction. It's a real thing, and families have been ruined by it. I can't offer any solution though. Those things are not curable. |
These are the show "needs" of every woman I know. You are a minimalist |
| Because she wants them.. Be glad she doesn't want a different car for every day of the week. |
| Wow, this must be why my shoes always look so cruddy. I usually try to wear 2-3 pairs through the whole year. They're always worn out a few months in, and I blame the shoddy construction. I guess instead I should be treating them as disposable. Ugh, $$$. |
Way low |
I am a woman and I have 7 pair of shoes, I commend you for only have 4. 2 pair sneakers 1 fancy summer 1 fancy winter 1 sandals 1 winter boots 1 crocs for swimming pool |
At least it's affordable. Fat/bald men have to rely on their cars
|
| I don't buy shoes often. In my case, my DH has bought me more shoes than I buy myself, and most of the time I get rid of them because they don't fit. |

OP here. Obviously my original post was a bit tongue in cheek. I was just curious as to women's fixation with shoes. I couldn't say how many pairs DW actually has, though it seems like a lot to me. Not sure how many are in regular rotation but I'd guess that there are at least 50 pairs strewn about the closet and bedroom. I don't think most of them are particularly expensive though.
Nothing thrills her more than some stranger commenting that they like her shoes though. That's a day-maker for her. |
Mmm... I'm a trial lawyer who is in court everyday. 2 pairs of shoes is not going to do it. I think a lot also depends on your profession. |
|
Does she give Imelda Marcos a run for her money?
Women just love shoes. A lot of them. We love to have a nice selection to choose from, depending on our mood that day. We have such a huge variety to choose from too. High heels, wedges, platform, sandals, pumps, flats, flip flops, tennis shoes...The list goes on and on. Men have less options... |
| OP, When was the last time you went down on DW? How's your sex life in general? Before I started my online affairs I spent hours googling shoes. Now I might own 10-15 pairs and spend that time chatting instead. Priorities, satisfaction, the dopamine factor. |
I have one pair of sneakers, some flip-flops, 2 pairs of heels, a pair of winter boots, a pair of flats and that is literally it. I've always thought something was wrong with me because I can't rekate to the show obsession thing. I also have no interest in fancy bags. Saves us $ but I feel like a freak.

Just to add I'm a social worker (currently SAHM) and didn't need nice shoes for work, so I'm sure that makes a difference. |
| Also, weight gain and loss doesn't affect the fit. |
