Discovery should just shut down TLC

I still miss Trading Spaces and While You Were Out. I also miss What Not To Wear. I haven't watched TLC since those shoes got cancelled. I miss "reality" television that didn't really follow particular people. Loved how quickly the designers could transform a space (or wardrobe) and make a small difference in the people's loves. Much more innocent version of reality tv.

Yes! And While You Were Out. I think that was TLC too.

Heck, I miss when The Real World was really just 7 strangers thrown together in an apartment, no hot tub, no expectation of hookups or menages-a-trois.

(I know Real World wasn't TLC, but I'm just sayin)

I agree. It is garbage, but unfortunately there is an audience for it.

I'm sure that there would be an audience for dog fighting but you've got to drawn to the line somewhere. TV channels have a right to air stupid and trashy stuff. They even have a right to exploit adults of sound mind and body. TLC has crossed the line multiple times with child exploitation.

TLC knew about the molestation charges along with the Quiverfull movement's acceptance of sexual abuse against women. They chose to air it anyway. In fact, I believe that they gambled when it finally came out that it might be a ratings bonanza with lots of new viewers tuning in to see the show. The Thursday marathon wasn't an oversight, they were further trying to milk the publicity. They only pulled the show because the advertisers threatened to leave the channel.

At this point they are just a liability for the parent company and should go.

I loved Trading Spaces!
And there was also another nice show called Surprise by Design, though I am not sure if it was TLC.

I would love more decorating shows. HGTV seems to be one huge House Hunters marathon or property brothers. But what about decorating?!

Mystery Diagnosis? Loved that show.

I think it must be like watching a train wreck - someone people just find it fascinating and entertaining, or maybe it makes them feel better about their lives. I don't know, because, honest to god, I have never watched any of those shows.

I think even the Kardashians and Real Housewives are stupid shows. TV shows have become so bad. I hate reality tv.
