Best durable couch

I agree that you need to wait until you move. Three months sounds like a long time to wait but you don't want to make a mistake. And don't buy off measurements you make during a home inspection - btdt and lived to regret the expensive mistake. Live there for awhile and get the feel of the space. That being said I highly recommend Stickley for fabric or leather (I've had both). I bought a bedroom set from Restoration Hardware a year ago and am not impressed with the quality.

I need a new sofa also and have wondered if my dog would scratch leather. Do pets leave scratch marks on leather?

Down filled, and removable covers, it's the most comfortable couch I have ever owned or sat on. And I went to 2 dozen stores and sat on numerous ones to find it.

M&G went out of business. We have a sectional from there that is about 10 years and in great condition. We also have two sofas from 5 years ago that are horribly worn and need to be replaced. I think they went downhill before closing.

We had a Lazy Boy sectional that held up great for over 15 years. With four kids, dogs, cats.

It's still pretty decent, just looking worn, so we moved it to the basement rec room and got a new one a few years ago for our family room.

For 5-6k you can get a high quality North Carolina made sofa from a quality furniture maker. Upholstered not leather at that price.

Spend this time learning about the different makers to find one you like. A floor sample or something would be a little less.

I wouldn’t mess with the big box retailers, they’re making a lot of garbage.

5-6k won’t buy you any sofa from NC but the standard 84” 3 seater you’ll have plenty of options.
