S/O Vegetarian eating Five Guys burger

Anonymous
I consider myself a vegetarian, but I occasionally eat seafood. I don't actually like eating it, but sometimes I crave the nutrients. In fact, I always feel nauseous when I think about it. I suppose I'm a pescetarian. I tell people that I eat seafood if I'm going to their house. I really rarely make it though.

I do eat eggs (they tend to be unfertilized) and drink milk (that would be vegan, if I didn't)

Aren't all food eggs unfertilized? (Not being snarky, like so many on this board. Truly confused.)

If they only did it while pregnant and then resumed a complete vegetarian diet, I'd give them a pass and not take issue with them calling themselves vegetarian.

PP here. I don't know. I just remember this one time when I was maybe 6, my mom cracked open an egg, and their was a little baby chick (not alive). I struggled with eggs after that one.

FG is mediocre at best. Who's paying you to promote it OP?

Bizarre conclusions you are reaching there. My post is in response to this from another thread:

Please advise me on whether each of my following friends is vegetarian:
- The one who likes chorizo occasionally because it reminds her of her mother;
- The one who eats chicken nuggets on her birthday;
- The one who eats gummy bears;
- The one who likes a type of fruit juice that has carmine in it (from ground beetle shells);
- The ones who eat eggs (are these meat or dairy?);
- The one who takes a prescription medication that is not yet available in a vegetarian form;
- The three who were craving beef during their pregnancy so went to Five Guys one or twice.

Thanks!

This quote is not the same as what you posted. You asked if someone who eats Five Guys several times a year is a vegetarian. That quote is about whether eating Five Guys a few times during your pregnancy means you are no longer a vegetarian. Those seem different to me. if you regularly eat meat, even infrequently, you're not a vegetarian. If you don't regularly eat meat, but made an exception while you were pregnant, you are a vegetarian who took a break for a few months.

My friends would call it a "cheat-a-tarian".

+1

Not a vegetarian, and that goes for OP too.

I eat meat (any meat - beef, poultry, seafood, etc) maybe 2x a month. I say I'm not a big meat eater, but I'm definitely not a vegetarian.

I'm not longer a vegetarian, but I still can't eat red meat (I don't like it and don't want to eat it). It's hard to explain that to people. If it's a dinner party, I will peck at the food and pretend.

I was a vegetarian for about 6 years. When I restarted eating meat, my body reacted the exact same way it had reacted previously. There was no adjustment period.

DH used to be a vegetarian for more than 10 years (vegan period thrown in here and there during that period).
When he started eating meat again, digestion was not a problem at all.
He had a harder time getting used to the texture of the meat.

I met a steak-eating Jain once ....

Just curious, because someone seems genuinely confused on this point in another thread and I wonder if it is just me thinking the answer to this is obvious.

(I took this to a new thread to avoid further derailment of another thread)

No, if you eat meat you are not a vegetarian.

I was concerned about indigestion when I stopped being vegetarian but steak has never done me wrong since.

This is hard for people who have never experienced this to understand. I am not a vegetarian, but stopped eating red meat for a few monthswhen I was in college. I went all in with prime rib when I ate it again (yes, it was stupid). That was easily the worst night of my life, and I have had c-sections, and several other surgeries.
