I am not sure, but considering that you actually felt so bad that you called in to work sick, I would have seen a Dr. if I was you.

If you still feel this way tomorrow morning, then most definitely see someone.

My PCP couldn't do anything for vertigo (didn't know the procedure; was literally googling it as I was on the table) but my chiropractor knew just what to do. Just FYI if it lingers.
