You have a great deal! Are you still in a "new user" discount phase? (I am 4/4 21:52 poster - sounds like we have the same service but you save about $40...) |

For FIOS internet and land line (no cable), we pay about $85/month. We don't watch a lot of TV and we get pretty good reception from rabbit ears and HD TVs. We do occasionally watch free Hulu, HGTV and other shows via the web.
We have been with Verizon for about 20 years in two residences (same phone number). Last house we had DSL, this house we have FIOS. Our FIOS was $50 in 2008 when we moved in, and is now $65. Landline has gone from about $14-20 over that time. |

Took advantage of an error on Verizon website initially for:
Extreme TV Internet 15/5 DVR $76/mo + tax (~80/mo total with tax) Unfortunately that ended after a year and it went up to $135/mo ($147/mo total with tax). I called and told them I could afford that and after arguing with the lady, got forwarded to the collections department! So I was then forwarded again to someone else where I was able to negotiate the following: Preferred TV Internet 20/10 DVR $117/mo ($126 total with tax) |
We called comcast and threatened to cancel several times. They never cared. Even when we finally did they were like oh well. We are with fios now and pay around $150 with no dvr but we have all of the premium channels including gaim tv. |
