Insurance Umbrella Policy - worth it?

+1 and our net worth is nowhere near 500k PPs mentioned. But, you can get sued for almost anything (slip and fall on your property, car accident, etc.) even if you don't have a ton of assets. I'm an attorney though and am risk averse, I've seen people have to declare bankruptcy after severely injuring someone in a car accident. Not to mention their state minimum insurance coverage barely paid anything toward the other person's long term medical bills.

Because DH and I do have a decent amount of assets and good earning potential for the future, I'd rather pay the <$10 month to make sure we are adequately insured.
