Does your charter offer a summer camp?

It is $200 flat rate for the 4 weeks.

Is it opened to non-students.

There is a discount for kids who qualify for free and reduced lunch.

The program is only available to currently enrolled students. In addition, program that is $200 for 4 weeks is the rate for the elementary school program. (current PK3 - 4th grade). There is a different program for middle school and high school students.

What kind of summer camps are we talking about here? "Summer camp" can mean a lot of different things.

We're talking about ANY full time summer programming (beyond regular school) offered by or at any DC Public school. Pretty straight forward really.

What else could we mean?

Not sure, was curious because some PPs seemed to disagree about summer Math and English classes at a charter, which is certainly summer programming. I guess the difference would be whether it's fulltime or not - but not all summer camps are fulltime, either.

ITS is supposed to be offering one run by the Y.

Inspired teaching does not have a camp. The Y is renting space at the school to host the Y camp. Any kids can go.

Has the Y finalized this? Last I heard they were looking at several locations, including ITS and Meridian (which is much closer to the branch).

Interesting, so it's still free then? $400 is less then their regular monthly price for before and aftercare plus meals. I wonder how they are funding it.

Yes, basically free. Not sure how they are funding it. Just happy to take advantage of it! Of course, they don't have slot for every child. Only 80 kids (of what I guess are more like 160) get in. Applications accepted in order of submission.
