Fox News Withdraws Claims of "No-Go Zones"

I think they are rooted in the concept of subjective truth as opposed to objective truth in their reporting. A subjective truth is true for the person(s) making the judgement, even though it may not be true for others, i.e. "It's cold in here". An objective truth is true for people of all cultures, times, etc., even if they do not know it or recognize it to be true, i.e. “People need water and air to live”. From an entertainment perspective, which in my subjective opinion is what Fox News is more geared to - entertainment - I think Fox News just finds it quicker, easier, and more captivating to report subjective truths about stories that appeal to their target audience as opposed to taking the time to actually dig around and get all the facts in an attempt to report objective truths about stories which may not be as entertaining or as appealing to their target audience. I think Fox News sees themselves as more liken to a branch of the entertainment industry than a part of the journalism industry and thus they aren't as regimented in following the journalism code of ethics.

Regardless of the info-tainment angle, they market themselves as news, not satire or entertainment, and they market themselves as "fair and balanced," neither of which meets any smell test. What you want to call "subjective truth" is just another pretty word for a lie. Subjective truth is why FOX viewers "know" that Obama is a Kenyan born Muslim, that Benghazi was a massive coverup, that climate change is a massive hoax and so on. All falsehoods. At least The Onion markets itself as satire and comedy.

If they want to bill themselves as a conservative spin zone, that's fine. But even then, they are still subject to slander and libel laws.

You say it like you've witnessed things few people did. You believe one thing, someone else believes another thing. Neither of you is more right, because neither of you will ever have the information or know the truth. This is not how media works. Any media regardless of political bias.

Benghazi was a cover up.

Fox does not claim that Obama was born in Kenya or that climate change is a massive hoax.

Yeah, they just find people who believe Obama was born in Kenya and then invite them on the show, where they fail to dispute their claims. Great.

The only one I know who point blank refuted it was O'Reilly.

And what a cover up at that. It even involves House Republicans.

That's this fallacious idea that your opinion is as good and equally valid as fact, that you look at a lump of coal and see a golden nugget, whereas everyone else sees a hard black mass of carbon, and you think your belief is equally accurate and valid as the next guy.

Best line I heard (from Wilkow) was in reference to Mitch McConnell being placed in Harry Reid's place. Wilkow always says Boehner is about as effective as a monkey humping a football. In hearing McComnnel and Boehner's immigration reform plans, Wilkow said 'Well, now it's a three way'

8 separate Congressional investigations and tens of millions of dollars spent on them, yet they have failed to produce any meaningful evidence of a coverup. And neither did any of the other investigations done by reliable parties.

But I guess we are supposed to ignore all of that and instead bank on the Alex Jones types who also think there are secret FEMA concentration camps and that we are being sprayed by planes with mind control chemtrails...

I wrote the above and am a tea party conservative. Trey Gowdy's interrogations are very interesting. There was definitely an issue in Benghazi

An accusation of a coverup put in the form of a question does not mean that there actually was a coverup.

And, that's not even getting into the bogus "when did you stop beating your wife" line of questioning that Trey Gowdy loves...

Specifically, what from these investigations are you referring to?

Go to youtube. Search on Trey Gowdy Benghazi. Pick one. Listen to the responses he gets.

What smoking gun has been revealed by the Gowdy panel? None.

Has he gotten stonewalled, has he gotten frustration, has he gotten the virtual "fuck you" from some of the people he's dragged into hearings?

YOU BET.

At this point agencies and the individuals involved have already wasted thousands and thousands of hours and being forced to waste tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer dollars having to deal with the same goddamned stupid questions over and over and over again and everyone has had enough of this bullshit. Everyone but Trey Gowdy and the lunatic fringe conspiracy theorists out there.

Bless your heart! You just keep thinking that, Honey.
