Any feds ever lose their laptops?

Calm down. There is nothing you can do if you can't find it right now. You'll go through the necessary steps and procedures and survive. Don't show this panicky behavior in the work place, it isn't professional.

My laptop was minimally damaged, and my agency tried to charge me $1800 to replace it (and not let me keep it, even though it functioned fine)! Probably they will just make you fill out a lot of forms.
