| Your IT techs have a procedure for this, not a big deal. |
| My coworker had hers stolen out of a hotel safe. Her room didn't have a safe, so she took it to the front desk where there was a safe. Never saw it again. |
| I'd be surprised if your agency doesn't have a procedure in place to handle these situations. You should contact your supervisor about how to proceed. At our agency, the employee must file a police report right away if it was stolen and notify the building/IT security as well. |
| Send an email to your ISSO and ask for direction. In our agency, we have to call the police and file a report. Then the ISSO will step in. |
| Contact your ISSO and ask for direction. At our agency you would need to call the local police and file a report before he/she would step in. Good luck! |
Was this in the US? |
Yes! California, I think. |
+1 Happens all the time as does loss of phones, etc. |
| OP, did it have PII in it? |
Ah yes, of course. I've never heard of this happening. Maybe call your agency's IT dept to report it. |
| CYA time. |
| Check the trunk of the car, check under the seats. Did you go back into the office for any reason? It's probably somewhere.... |
|
OP again -
Still freaking out, bc its just so weird. I cant even imagine where it could be. I went from work to home and haven't touched my bag since I got home - never took it out. I emailed my supervisor but I'll talk to the IT people in the morning. My friend just did some accidental damage to her laptop and there were so many forms and statements, I cant imagine what this will entail. |
No, PII that I know of. I have never saved anything to the hard drive. |
| OP - as long as you don't have PII (other people's SSN, DOB..etc.) or classified info (OUO, Conf, ..etc.) you shouldn't be in too much trouble. Your computer wasn't encrypted? |
