Inexpensive, relaxing overnight trip away before baby - suggestions?

Two great recommendations:

Bartlett pear inn in Easton - amazing!

Hillbrook inn in Charlestown WV - amazing and had a spa and not far from harpers ferry! Book the winter cottage suite if possible

OP, me and my husband just got back from Savage River Lodge. It was $250/night, which isn't cheap, but it was SO restorative. A lovely place to go for a winter getaway. They have a beautiful lodge with a big fireplace and you get your own private bungalow to stay in. I would highly recommend it. It was 2.5 hours away from us in Montgomery county.

If a little more corporate what you have in mind the Hyatt resort in Cambridge on the Eastern shore is comfy, nice indoor pool, rooms with pretty bay views and is a short drive to Easton, which has some really nice restaurants and cute shops as well as close to the Blackwater wild bird refuge, which is an easy walk/drive tour and very pretty. Or, the Tidwater Inn in Easton's really nice and sort of combines historic charm with larger hotel amenities.

Down in southern MD, I"ve always wanted to try this place - once you're over there you could have a gentle walk around Historic St Mary's City and the college, both of which are really pretty. I'm not as sure about dining options, though surely one can get good seafood somewhere!

If you live in an urban area with nice amenities, you won't be impressed by berkeley springs. And the spas are like getting a sloppy manicure at your aunt's house. The food and shopping don't even compare to pentagon city mall. I wouldn't go back there again.
