La Creueset Vs. Lodge - Is LC worth the Price?

I have La Creuset pieces from my mom, some are 50 + years old. Where does one have them refinished? Anybody know?

La Creuset stuff lasts forever. I bought some imitation porcelain/iron cookware and the porcelain flaked off in a short time.

I always thought I wanted this stuff, and then I house sat for a friend who had it. It still sticks and is ridiculously heavy. It also chips. No thanks!

OP here!

I'm back AND I am the owner of a gorgeous, new 9 QT Round French Oven...this is the exact one - http://www.zappos.com/le-creuset-9-qt-signature-round-french-oven

Thank you TJ Maxx and thank you to those who recommended that I try TJM!

Oh, and I got it for $179!

I wonder if she has the "real" stuff. Its my understanding that food does not stick. If it chips it could be because they are second quality? its my understanding that second quality only gets one coating of enamel which will lead to chipping.

I've bought six different LC items at Marshalls. Different colors but I don't care because it is about 60% off regular price.

OP here. I used mine last night for the first time. Made the most delicious Pork Loin Roast with apple and onion and balsamic reduction. it was so delicious!

Oh, no, it's the real stuff. Don't think she ever buys second quality things.
