La Creueset Vs. Lodge - Is LC worth the Price?

Why would cast iron cookware contribute to elevated lead levels?

I don't know. I'm just telling you our experience. We were living in a suburban development built in 1994. No lead in the house or the yard.

We found it very strange, too.

OP here -

How often do you think one can find LC at either Home Goods, TJ Maxx or Marshall's?

I closest of any of these stores is 20-30 mins away, so just wondering what my chances are of finding LCs on my first visit?

Not sure where you are, but I believe there's a LC outlet at the new outlet mall at national harbor.

Yeah, that's too far. I'll give the other stores a try first.

I love my 5.5 qt round oven. It was my housewarming gift to myself when I bought my first home. It is the most used thing in my kitchen. You will seriously enjoy it for the rest of your life, so spring for the one you want.

I see them at TJ Maxx all the time for around $150. Hope you find one. I am excited for you!!!

Do you know if you can still use a dutch oven with a crack on the outside? I received an lc dutch oven from a relative but there is a pretty sizable crack on the outside of the pot

I chose Emile Henry Flame dutch ovens, made in France, and lighter than cast iron. They work very similarly and come in pretty colors.

I also use Emile Henry. Love them, although since they are not cast iron they can chip and break.

You might also try Tuesday Morning for LC or EH.

There is, but it is not discounted.

Leesburg outlet has a Le Creuset store. I have seen them at Homegoods, but the colors and choices were not that great. Get something you really like, since it will last forever.
I got mine from Amazon and Cutlery and More. You can also watch for sales at Williams Sonoma.

Send them a picture and I bet they'll offer you a replacement! LC is good about that stuff.

Even if it's already been very well used? My aunt have me her old one so it's not new at all.
