Overrated.

+1. It is a good preschool but we pulled our child out of NCRC for St. Columba's, which is a truly wonderful and unique preschool. The teachers are fabulous.

NCRC was our least favorite.

It doesn't matter. Pick the one thats most convenient and where your DC will be happy.

My DC attended Beauvoir with kids from NCRC, kids from day care, kids from dumpy and happy church basement preschools, kids from synagogue preschools, kids who didn't go to preschool at all and simply started school in Pr-K. And there was absolutely no difference over the years in how these various kids did.

Honestly, you need to pace yourself. If you're already looking for the "right" preschool you have a long road ahead of you.

We really liked NCRC but LOVED River. We also really liked Little Folks. We will just see where we get accepted -- it doesn't seem like you can go wrong with any of these schools.

You may be right, but a school like NCRC provides unparalleled friendship networking opportunities both for the kids and for their parents.

Well if the parents refer to it as a place for "unparalleled friendship networking opportunities" then I am very glad my kids didn't attend.

You're right.

This is a daycare

It is DC, you will meet connected parents at most of the preschools.

I would suggest networking somewhere besides a preschool??

I would have loved to have had the opportunity to send my kids there. I know kids who have attended and it is an amazing experience. It is a daycare but an impressive and cool daycare!

I really dont get the fascination with Country Day Mclean. When we toured it, it seemed more like a day care than a preschool. It also felt pretty dirty and a lot of the toys/tables were from ikea. For the prices they charge, I would expect much more.

I really love this school. Their grounds are beautiful and the play areas are the best of any preschool in the area. They also are very much in to what is developmentally appropriate for children who are 2-5. Many schools are not. It is just a really wonderful place for children.

Omg. I felt the EXACT same way!! Everyone raves about CDS it but its filthy and has no grass. Small classrooms.

Check out Browne academy's preschool in Alexandria. It's truly amazing. They really know what they are doing. But only for preschool. Leave for K and above.

and then everyone else.

But then again, if you have to ask you wouldn't know that.

I like to think of this as a troll because the alternative is that the author is that much of an ass.
