I have never met more uptight, lame parents than those of kids at this school. If you are 50 and have a 4 year old, go for it.

I really dont get the fascination with Country Day Mclean. When we toured it, it seemed more like a day care than a preschool. It also felt pretty dirty and a lot of the toys/tables were from ikea. For the prices they charge, I would expect much more.

Apple Montessori. a total gem. and hidden away enough that there are no dcum-type parents. The director strongly encourages families to go public, but has been very supportive of children going to private and has met with heads of various primary-level privates. our class went half-private, half-public right down the middle.

Some of the privates have preschools. Why don't you just start there?

And- bonus- it's easier to get accepted for preschool than PK or K! NPS and St. Pat's are both great schools that have preschools.
