I think that is what it is coming to (pardon the pun). And not just drunken sex - whose to say who is "drunk"? The rule will have to be No sex in the dorms, period. No sex in university recognized frats and sororities. period. Only way to avoid these problems. |
Not a bad idea in theory, but it will never work in practice. Unless you consider every encounter on campus a rape by default. That may get some attention. |
Totally. And also, soon they're going to start banning looking at other people. And chop off all penises. And human beings will have to turn themselves into sentient robots if they want to reproduce!!! It's totally going to happen guys! ![]() |
There, there. No need to engage in the proverbial war on science! ![]() |
I think that women need to come to terms with the fact that if they get drunk in public around men, if a man has sex with her while she is inebriated, she needs to just take responsibility and move on. If you don't want to get raped while you are drunk, don't get drunk around men. |
Regret shouldn't mean rape and willful participation while inebriated isn't rape either. |
Same rule should apply to men then. Anytime they get drunk, people should be allowed to rape them with no consequences. And I mean, not just hetero rape- I mean rape in whichever way a person chooses... |
I wouldn't go this far. If the male is sober, he can be charged with rape in that situation. But if he is drunk and she is drunk, they are absolved of their actions because they were both drunk. So maybe the poster above was right: schools just have to ban all drunken sex on campus. |
Good rule. |
Good thing no one defines rape that way then. |
LOL! |
If both the male and female are drunk, the male is still generally considered the responsible party, even though this is completely unfair. If this is a college, the male will be expelled in this situation. If you have college age boys, I'd tell them to never sleep with any woman that they see drinking, even if it's just one or two drinks. They should also prefer dating women off-campus, where a false accusation at least won't get them automatically expelled like what is happening at some schools today. There is a full-blown moral panic going on in the media and you don't want you son to get steamrolled by college a beaurocracy that is primarily concerned about covering their asses and making an example about how they will not tolerate "sexual assault." Decades of feminism has brought society back to 1800s, when men are basically the only responsible adults in society and women are helpless ingenues who cannot be held responsible for what they do. |
+2 I had a suitemate in college who would refer to any guy she had (regretfully) had sex with as her "rapist". "Oh, there's my rapist from last week, Brian. What was I thinking?!?", etc. She also did that when a guy would decide he was ready to move onto another girl; coincidentally, he became a "rapist" as soon as he was interested in someone else. She's certainly not the only girl to use that word completely flippantly in referring to someone with whom she had participated in willing sex. People like that ruin innocent lives in much the same way as a rapist can ruin lives. |
You're joking, right? It's a shame that some people do. |
That's messed up. If word got out that she was like that, she'd be avoided like a leper. |
