+1. I also like Elizabeth Mitchell. I have a pandora station for DD that I play in the house and car. A lot of variety!

We listen to everything in our family and I'm pretty sure that the only "kids music" that she is into is the Frozen soundtrack.

Not OP but my husband given his preference listens to only jazz, mostly avant garde, and classical/opera. Our kids, well, they aren't so into this so we try to compromise. Everyone gets into They Might Be Giants, which I recommend, including our 2 year old.

Our nanny introduces our kids to "her" music. One of our kids loves David Bowie.

They Might Be Giants made some kids' albums. Here Comes Science is my favorite.

Beatles are great. Drug references nicely hidden and simple and repetitive.

The Bare Naked Ladies kid CD isn't bad.

There is a singer songwriter who does train songs, James Coffey.

My kids like movie songs, like Real Gone and Behind the Clouds from Cars. They also like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, and summer camp style songs like Ghost Chickens in the Sky.

Beach Boys and other retro surf music is good too.

They also love the Gummy Bear song, but you would be begging for death 30 seconds in. Likewise the peanut butter jelly song.

OP Here - Yep, I think this is what we'll end up doing. Most of what DH likes though will most likely be off limits, but we should be able to find some classic rock that she'll enjoy.

I don't censor music at all, so once they're past preschool age it's mostly movie soundtracks, whatever's on the radio, and whatever DH or I listen to.

I didn't catch what age your DD is, but if she's very young maybe Raffi, or Peter Paul & Mary, or classical if she's too young to have a preference for music with actual lyrics.

Raffi - so catchy I listened to his CDs long after my kids stopped listening to them.

I can't believe it took until page 3 for TMBG to come up! They Might Be Giants' adult/original music AND their kids' albums are AWESOME!!!

Love the kids CD from Bare Naked Ladies. Super clever lyrics that everyone (even Grandma) enjoys.

This is what I do as well. My daughter loves Stay With Me by Sam Smith and a couple of other popular songs out right now.
