| FYI: the special education COSA requests are handled differently, and by different people, than COSA requests for kids without IEPs. |
|
Here is what different people I know have used successfully -
1) Parents were separated (or trial separation), mom used the address of her relatives (she was staying with them), to ask for a COSA. Couple reconciled later. 2) One child was already in the school, another was given COSA accommodation based on that. 3) One child had a health condition and parents wanted him to be nearer to the grandparents house as they both worked. 4) The babysitter who had been taking care of the child since birth was near the COSA school. |
I am the person from the other thread - guess you were wrong but wonderful to come on to add your rude sarcasm. And by the way when I bought into Horizon Hill, RP wasn't completely over capacity. Fallsgrove wasn't even zoned yet. But yes, if I would have known they were going to add a massive development and Park Potomac to a school already AT capacity, yup I wouldn't have bought there. Sucks for us. |
Not the PP but I don't think people would apply if transportation is an issue. |
I hear ya. I didn't read your original post but we live in a neighborhood zoned for a particular cluster and are fearful that with all the White Flint redevelopment our neighborhood will be rezoned. It The only thing that might help us is that I think both clusters are at or over capacity so not sure it would make sense rezone us. |

If your child needs special education program, you may find one school's grogram fits your child needs better than your home school.
Child care need is another one used by most people. If you find a childcare is on cold spring bus route and enroll your child in it one or two year before he/she attends kindergarten, you will have a very good reason to stay in the same childcare and attend cold spring. Many my colleagues used the workplace childcare and have their kids attend Elementary schools in Bethesda or Rockville. School buses from 3 or more ES stop at the daycare center. |
