Years ago, I knew some Persian Jewish girls who were sent there by their families who I think hoped it wouls provide a conservative environment for their daughters.

Pepperdine is Church of Christ, extremely conservative, and very free market solves everything. Lots of students align with this view. It also has a LOT of extremely wealthy students whose parents pay full tuition and give their kids plenty of pocket money for coke and cars. So, that's there too.

I would not send my kid there. Too unwilling to challenge conservative dogma. I have some conservative beliefs but I believe a good education should challenge students to think for themselves and not just memorize and regurgitate ideological propaganda. The pressure to conform there is really high.

I feel sorry for you, sounds like you made a terrible school choice. If it makes you feel better, colleges left and right stifle free speech and it is an ongoing battle:

Gotta say: I agree. Doesn't seem like any way that Pepperdine would be a good fit for pp.

Okay, probably not a good fit for DS then. Thanks, all, for your advice -
OP.

I never get people who post negative things about the school they attended. Finding a college that fits might take more than one try, but no one should spend their 4+ college years at a school they don't like.

That said, having admitted to their own poor judgment with regard to selection of college, these people come onto to sites like this to share their "insight."

Original PP here. They gave me a full ride and a chance at getting out of a bad family situation. Not everyone gets their choice of ten schools that mummy and daddy would be happy to pay for. I got the piece of paper that I needed. That doesn't mean it was all wine and roses. Is it a DCUM rule that we all have to loooooove our colleges? Did I miss that?

Not at all. But instead of taking your college experience for what it was (a get out of jail free card, basically -- and being thankful for that perhaps), you're here -- 10-20 years later?-- bashing the school for being exactly as advertised.

OP asked about the school. I gave my honest opinion based on actual experience as a student. You seem to be very invested, even personally offended, by my opinion. Don't you have more important things to worry about?
