Regarding Ankgor Wat, it's on my bucket list, but I also have friends living in Asia who told me how hot and difficult it was for their younger kids when they went. I cannot imagine doing that along with jet lag with my kids yet.

Now I am curious where your home country is. Are you from central Africa? Connections to Asia are not more expensive through Dubai or Emirates. I can see that Australia/New Zealand, I can see the argument on expenses to travel from the U.S. being lower.
