I would also vote Zion, Bryce and Yosemite over Grand Canyon. Redwoods or Sequoia are beautiful too- Personally, I would do San Fran over NYC if you can only do one for the kids (I've lived in one and visited the other many times, but as a child I loved San Francisco). Skip Chicago (no offense) and San Diego is very pretty with lots of stuff to do for kids if you find yourself there.

| Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Mesa Verde, the Rocky Mountains (Colorado), Alaska, Acadia National Park. |
| Orlando |
| We lived in Asia when my kids were a bit younger than that and combined a trip to Thailand and Cambodia. Cambodia was good for about 3-4 days seeing Angkor Wat and a couple of other things, but I wouldn't make a trip around the world just for Cambodia. Cambodia was good for about 3 days for Angkor Wat, but I'd try to combine it with Thailand or Vietnam if you're going all that way. |

Thank you all for the suggestions! I know it's strange to ask about visiting Asia, but flying from our home country to Asia is not necessarily faster but surely more expensive than flying from the U.S. Especially Australia and New Zealand!
So I guess we will focus on exploring the Americas and Australia and New Zealand for the next few years. Forgot to say yes we did New England and New York already. Went to California and did pretty much everything too. Disneyworld, check. Regarding Ankgor Wat, it's on my bucket list, but I also have friends living in Asia who told me how hot and difficult it was for their younger kids when they went. I cannot imagine doing that along with jet lag with my kids yet. Thinking of visiting Galapagos but don't know if they are at the right age yet? |
| Agree with 10:08. A mountain cabin, or a farm stay, would give the kids a taste of rural American life that they could then compare with the landscape back home. Also make sure to be somewhere nice either adorable small town with a parade or good place to see fireworks for the 4th of July! |
| Amish Country, in either Pennsylvania or Ohio. Also maybe Tangier Island...expose them to unique cultures and ways of life here within the United States. |
| LOL. You can skip Williamsburg. |
| What about Central/south America? Costa Rica with kids that age is great. Also, I've been wanting to do galopogos and incA trail with my kids. |
Now I am curious where your home country is. Are you from central Africa? Connections to Asia are not more expensive through Dubai or Emirates. I can see that Australia/New Zealand, I can see the argument on expenses to travel from the U.S. being lower. |

Yellowstone in winter (too crowded in summer)
Western states national park tour (four corners) Alaska or British Columbia and Vancouver |
|
Niagara falls. Tons of kids activities
Gulf coast of Florida esp sanibel |
| Second vote for CO and the rocky mountains! RMNP is amazing and lots to see and do with families. Both coasts offer some amazing things - WA and Orcas Island is incredible! NYC/NY State and Niagara. I mean, this is too broad of a search in my mind! |

We did Peru last summer with our seven year old daughter and highly recommend it....no real issues with jet lag, inexpensive once you get there, very accommodating/family friendly country, and Machu Pichu was amazing.
The Pacific Northwest is also a great spot for exploring with kids....Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver are all fabulous cities and the surrounding natural areas are stunning especially in the summer months. If you have always wanted to visit certain spots in Asia, then do it! Having lived and traveled throughout Asia with our kids when they were babies and toddlers, I can honestly say we never had any real problems and Asian cultures are wonderful for exploring with kids. Sounds like money isn't really an issue, so I would recommend having a family meeting. Make a list of top spots for everyone and try to tackle them over the next few years. Put things on the calendar now so the time won't escape you and have fun! I would also recommend renting apartments/cottages during your travels since you have several children and the extra space/kitchen/laundry can come in very handy. |
