What is the Most Weight You Gained During Pregnancy?

I did this by keeping a food journal and logging my calories and food intake. My doctor suggested this to make sure I was eating quality food vs. junk food. I often had cravings but kept them in check by eating crunchy foods like apples. People gave me a hard time for turning down ice cream chocolate, etc. I didn't want to have to lose all the weight after and i knew if I started with junk food I wouldn't be able to stop because I have a serious sweet tooth.

WHat you eat doesn't necessarily have anything to do with it. I ate icecream 2x/day with my second pregnancy. Also craved filet mignon, spinach, fruit, lots and lots of dairy. I only gained 30 pounds.

Wow, thanks for motivating me to make my first ever snarky comment on DCUM!

Just because you only gained 25lbs with your pregnancy doesn't make you a better person than someone who gained 50. In fact, bragging about it actually makes it obvious that you're actually insecure, or enjoy putting other people down, or have some other character flaw that makes you need to make statements like this so you can feel better about yourself.

Hey, but what the hell - at least you're a skinny bitch, right?

PP, thanks for being snarky so I don't have to be. You captured my sentiments exactly.

Amen, PPs. Wow. Some people can be so mean.

I'm 5'10". At 34 weeks, I've gained 26 lbs. At this rate, I think I should top out at 30 lb. by my EDD. I started out about 20 lb. overweight pre-preg.

23:05 here. I wish I could take back my post - it really was bitchy and mean sounding and I was embarrassed after reading it again. I'm short and at 25 pounds I felt like crap, especially my knees which were really sore from carrying the extra weight. It was definitely rude and I learned something from my tone.

Excellent mea culpa, 23:05.

We've all said stupid things. I made several idiotic comments to my husband when I was pregnant about not understanding how some people carried that much extra weight all the time. (Note to those about to get offended: I said it was idotic, so don't flame.) Something about our bodies playing shape shifter is really freaky, especially the first time through.

We forgive you.

I'm 12:32, who called you out. That is a nice apology, and thank you for taking the time to post it!
