Not sure if any of you remember or saw the Nick Berg beheading video in 2004. That video was in it's entirety, meaning they showed the actual beheading. The beginning part was the same, Nick was stoic while the extremist guy read/said a bunch of stuff. It wasn't until they actually started the beheading that Nick started struggling. These current beheadings are very similar with the only real difference being they cut the video showing the actual act.

They know what torture is like. They are hoping for a quick end. They can hear the torture of the other prisoners in the cell block.

Yes, probably. I feel pretty confident that I would not kick someone in shins. I would cry if I knew I was about to be beheaded. I think most people would.

I just saw a Ukrainian prisoner who was released as part of the cease fire and that's what he said too -- he just wanted them to get it over with. He was surprised he was released.

what happens to the families of hostages when they are taken? like, for example, a husband to a sahm with 3 kids is kidnapped by terrorists. what happens to the family? financially they can't survive without his salary, plus try to save for the unlikely ransom payment. that would be awful to have to worry about that in addition to losing your husband.
