You folks need to take up skiing, boarding or at least sledding. Then you would be excited about winter! Can't wait to break out my tights and sweaters. |
I'm sorry, OP. You are really missing out. |
I love fall: the colors, I can make homemade soups and stews, crisp Apple salad, Halloween, and my favorite giddy, Thanksgiving. Then comes the hustle and bustle of Christmas with its magnificent music, finding the perfect gifts.
I love the four seasons. |
Giddy should be holiday though I do get giddy with the anticipation of it being only 2.5 months away. |
I think fall would be more depressing without the holidays. Without them, after the football, apple picking, colors of the leaves, etc were over, then yes, fall wouldn't have a lot going for it.
But in fall there is always the current thing you are excited for and the next thing happening right after that. It just builds and builds until the Christmas grand finale. Fall means different clothes, meals, hobbies, diving into TV shows and movies. I just love the contrasts. But most of all, I just love the comfort of the season. I can put on jeans and go outside and just happily exist. I feel so much more alive and have so much more energy to exercise and do things during the fall. I become a completely different person. |
Totally agree. I find summer stifling and depressing and fall is so crisp and energetic. |
OP
I agree with you. I hate the days getting shorter. The summer barely got hot, do I feel no sense of relief for cooler weather. I struggle to get my son enough exercise. My allergies are worse. i hate switchg to long pants. My DH will hog the good TV and only watch football constantly (if not a game, then highlights, or games that were on the previous day) I actually love snow, so I do not mind when winter is here. I do enjoy soup. Try to find one or two good things to focus on |
OP here - I forgot one of the biggest problems with fall. It's the beginning of sickness season. I am sure I will start getting colds and other ailments shortly and they won't end till March.
I want to like fall, I really do. But I just hate it. In an effort to make it seem better, I have been brainstorming about positive things. Here goes: - new tv seasons - bigger clothing is cozy - my kids love Halloween - I can start wearing boots - it's not winter Alas, there is just something about how the light is that makes me unhappy. Like a sense of foreboding re: the winter coming. The sunlight is different. Maybe I was a resident of a tropical climate in a past life. And I would move to a warmer climate immediately if I could convince my husband. |
I am the PP you responded too - and I agree NOVEMBER is the worst! LOL |
That's why God created Movember. Goodbye ice bucket challenge, hello funny face hair, boots, jeans and bonfires!! |
+1. Honestly, I can get really bitchy and miserable in the summer. I am so, so much happier and pleasant in the fall. I can't wait ![]() |
Exactly!!! |
Geez, let it go... |
If I really lived it up in the summer -- sailing, beach, camping, etc 24/7, I would absolutely love the season. But because I don't, I end up spending much of it trapped in the AC under the relentless sun. And don't have much energy to do anything. In fall, I finally feel free to live. I have so much energy and look forward to so many things in the coming months. I love it. |
The best season. Love it!! |
