You don't say why he is in arrears. If it's true financial hardship, can he not ask for a variance order?

You may have a different perspective on this in a few years, I suspect.

+1

She could file injured spouse and they wouldn't seize her portion of the tax return.

It's easier to just create separate bank accounts.

Why would they seize his accounts anyway? If he's not in arrears yet, once they determine that he owes arrears, he can just set up a payment plan and that money gets added to the monthly support obligation until it is paid off.

I bet this is the poster who wants full custody of her husbands toddler they just found out about. In that thread, she is expecting and wants to avoid CSP by getting custody and providing daycare for both her expected child and DH's child so she can be a SAHM and avoid child support

If he lives in DC nothing will happen any time soon. Mine was $10k behind and I had to take him to court again to let the court know. They were able to get $300 out of his pockets that day, and I agreed to lower the payments to get him to pay anything.

Same in MD. My ex is routinely behind by $1,000+ and they don't do anything except take any tax refund that might be coming to him. It takes until the late summer for me to get it.

I suspect that her hubby cheated on her and got this woman pregnant, which is why he is avoiding paternity and OP wants to screw over the ex.

His child from a prior relationship. It's complicated. Will they seize joint accounts or just a percentage

Do you just randomly post stuff to see what will stick?
