If you really like it, OP, I say go for it. It's a very nice name, and the "clairvoyant" aspect would not stop me from using it. Both names are good, solid, and lovely names.

I know a lot of people like to give opinions on the cadence or flow of first name + middle name, or the trendiness or popularity or old lady / old man qualities of the name. When you ask an anonymous forum about names, you're going to get your choice picked apart in a way you wouldn't in real life (especially if you already had your daughter and had given her this name). My daughter's first and middle names don't "flow" together perfectly, but they are great names in my opinion, and both names are meaningful to us.

I have a lot of friends whose kids have honestly really lovely names that would get torn to shreds on this forum for one reason or another. Clara Violet is fantastic. Do Clara and her last name go together? If yes, then I think you have a winner.

Thanks so much for everyone's opinions! I didn't make the Clairvoyant or musical instrument association, but I will keep that in mind. Still have 3 months to go!

Re: pronunciation, we are actually not picky about this. One reason we chose Clara was that my family is of Scandinavian extraction, while her dad's family is from Brazil. Our relatives mostly call her "Clah-rah" because that's how it works best in their native languages. Most people here call her "Claire-uh" which is also fine.

Expect to get both.

Either name sounds fine on its own, but together it sounds super Victorian.

I like both names, but together they just don't or look great.

Ciara Violet?

+ 1. Very pretty name.

Are you guys kidding? Clara Rose has a horrible flow with the repeat r sounds. It's actually difficult to say. Not to mention that Rose is just about the dullest and most overused middle name of the century--right up there with Ann and Lynn.

I like Claire Violet more than Clara. Mostly because I never know how to pronounce Clara (Claire-uh or Clahr - uh)??

Also liked PP's suggestion of using Violet as first name! Cute!

Agree that both are beautiful but together it might be a bit cumbersome.
