STM needs to upgrade their audio equipment. Kane show voices sound as though they are in the same room as I am. STM sounds like they are broadcasting from the International Space station.

The first ever MARCscore listing for the DC market gives top-rated WTOP a total 24.5 ranking. Even though it's struggling in the ratings, contemporary hit WRQX, DC's 107.3, places second with a 24.0 score, just ahead of top-rated like-formatted WIHT, Hot 99.5, with a 20.3. Sports talker WJFK, 106.7 The Fan, ranks fourth with a 16.8 and public radio news talker WAMU scores a 14.4 for fifth place.....

ok. can anyone tell whether Sarah or Mel are talking? they sound exactly the same to me. One is talking. I'm thinking it's S and it ends up being M. then S is talking, I think it's M. So frustrating.

They sound completely different. Listen to the top of the hour when Sarah does the click and listen at 20 after for the entertainment stories from Melanie. You can tell the difference.

Hi Kane!

STM is pretty boring, but the Kane Show has become un-listenable. Intern John is an arrogant jerk with a speech impediment, Danni is fake and Kane is like the old guy trying to act like he's still part of the younger crowd. And Rose is just blah.

I really think people need to listen to the show for at least a week to get the topics they discuss, instead of an hour. Some topics (like any other radio show) won't be relevant to every single listener.

Think about this, a new TV show, do you stop watching after the pilot? Unlikely, because most pilots are not that good to begin with and it takes time for a show to gain traction.

Well, I also can't tell the difference between their voices sometimes. And I've listened on a number of occasions - don't like their topics.

I much prefer them to the Kane show. I didn't mind Dani but intern John reminds me of an over privileledged frat boy that needs to grow up. I also am too old for the Kane scams and war of the roses skits.

STM are still finding their groove but are far more enjoyable.

I like STM, and I too at times have a difficult time deciphering who is talking Sarah or Mel. I agree with a previous poster who said that she's not in their target audience I feel the same way. Although I'm in the 45+ category, the topics are blah. But I'm not in the car that long and no I will not go back to The Kane Show, it's terrible. Kane has lost his appeal and Danni is rather annoying.

I think with any radio show, some topics work, and some don't. It depends on one's taste. STM tends to find surveys that could spark someone's interest that one may not know about, which could be interesting.

There is a rumor that Kane took all of last week off without telling his audience. One of the DJ's at 99.5 posted a X-Mas party pic from Kane's house on Twitter. Multiple times today, Ty said that Sarah was at a wedding in Grand Cayman, which is why she wasn't on. It is good to explain to your audience if a regular is not there, it shows you care about your listeners.

I have been listening to 99.5 since Mark and Kris's era. They were entertaining and they left without a trace and we got Kane. He was good in the beginning but these days his show is all about sex. It is too early in the morning to hear that topic every 5 mins. I have also tried STL and it is boring. Elliot, he is just too annoying.

And then I found Bobby Bone on 98.7. It is a country station but he is not. I give it a shot and now I got a place to go to. Or we all can try WMAL.

I switch between Kane and STM. Kane needs to give up that War of the Roses, I find it insulting that he thinks listeners don't know that crap is fake. Then again, I'm sure you could find people who believe its real.
