Agree! John is a damn idiot and sounds like one too. And please stop saying MY MAN. So tired. I also never believed that Sammy was going back to school. It was obvious Kane and Sammy did not get along a lot of the time. Sarah surprised me though. She always seemed like she had great chemistry with Kane, but who knows what happened. I read an interview where she said she didn't keep in touch with Kane, so I guess they weren't close IRL. The 3rd one from the Kane Show was Mel. She started as an intern and then became part of the show. She quit rather suddenly last winter (or spring?) and Kane gave this rambling excuse-filled talk about how he felt bad because he couldn't give her the attention she needed and blah blah something. No idea what really happened, but my suspicion is that Danni edged her out. Mel used to do the celebrity gossip update and then one day Danni started doing it. I'm guessing Danni decided she needed to do more and take away stuff from Mel. But who knows. Hopefully Danni will go have that baby and that ratings go up while she's gone on maternity leave. I would go back to listening if Danni and John were gone. |
I think Kane Show is trying to target both college students and working professionals - and it's not working. We are totally different demographics. College students are typically not interested in hearing about pregnancy and baby crap, and working professionals don't want to hear intern john's dumb slurry drunk voice. |
|
And nobody wants to hear the fake roses and scams (with hired actors). Totally fake, people. It's against the law to tape anyone without their prior permission in MD, and it's against FCC regs to put a person on the air without their permission. It's well known that radio shows use a national service for those segments. So what Kane calls War of the Roses, some morning Dj calls something else but plays the same tape.
Lame. |
| Oh snap! Ty just said Keeping up w the Kardashians is totally fake...just like the Kane show!!! |
| I couldn't stand Kane and the intern john. Dani has an awful anooying voice!!! So glad that Sara is back!!!!!! |
That's not her "babydaddy" it's her husband. And she uses his DJ name so his real name isn't all out in the streets where people can stalk. Most radio personalities try not to give out their real names. And like someone else said he's in really good shape. This just shows how little people know about subjects they decide to comment on. |
| Sarah and Mel and Ty are just dumb. The topics are not interesting. And they try to be nasty but just can't pull it off. Kane also is annoying - as is his entourage - but their voices are WAY better to listen to and it's at least more funny. Except for Rose now - boy is she not interesting. Oh and BTW I do think Sarah left to try to make it TV. |
Did you listen for a week or an hour? There is a vast array of topics that get discussed. |
| STM will be canceled...it's terrible. I'm shocked that the Kane show hasn't been yanked...it's fake and boring. I listen to Elliott...he and his team are smart, funny and interesting. And I love the guests he has on (authors, comedians, etc). |
+1 on the Elliott in the Morning. Elliot is a bit of cave man - no social graces/manners but he's not dumb. He has really interesting people on for interviews and I love DC101 in general. |
When do you think this would happen? Kane has listeners that want to be "entertained" and love fake bits and probably don't know any better. The chemistry is shot, and "Intern John" is not an intern and never has been, it is a character name. |
| My kids cycle through all the pop stations during commutes to school so I have listed to Kane (when Sarah and Mel were on) and after, and MTL. I have listened to each of them cover a wide range of topics. I think the best was Kane before uber popularity when Sarah and Mel were there. MTL is awful. |
MTL? |

I am hating the Sarah, Ty and Mel show. And I really wanted to like it. Main reasons are:
1) I can't tell the difference between Sarah and Mel's voices and they are both grating. 2) I must not be their demographic (30, married, with kids). Topics like: Is it better to date a hard body or an out of shape guy, do you have a back up guy in case you break up, etc. just aren't for me. Then they must have tried to hit my demographic by talking about a woman who had to go back to work after having her baby. That was even more annoying listening to two women without kids try to discuss the difficulties of WOHMs. Nope, not interested. |

I have listened to Sarah and Mel from both stations and I don't get this argument about not being able to tell the difference between the two voices. They are different, it is pretty clear.
I really think people need to listen to the show for at least a week to get the topics they discuss, instead of an hour. Some topics (like any other radio show) won't be relevant to every single listener. Think about this, a new TV show, do you stop watching after the pilot? Unlikely, because most pilots are not that good to begin with and it takes time for a show to gain traction. |
