Yeah, sure they have.

LOL - yes, even as far away as DesMoines

Are you one of those people who consider anything between the east and west coasts to be dull "flyover" country? And for the record, Grinnell is very well known in NYC and Washington.

You have to tell people in Washington that Grinnell is well-known in Washington, it probably isn't. Just saying.

Also, what's the social scene like? It seems very remote, does the campus provide activities - do the kids drink out of boredom?

Sorry for what probably seems like dumb questions, but I've never been to the campus.

I didn't go to Grinnell, but I went to a school in their conference. Some kids drank out of boredom; most didn't. We had stuff to do.

The Campus Activities Board brought in bands and comedians and performers. They had movies every weekend. They held dances at least once a month. We went to movies in town. We played touch football, soccer, and softball. We went hiking. We had our own music groups and performance groups and put on our own performances. There was a ton of student clubs and the clubs had events, parties, and field trips. We played cards. We played board games. We watched TV. We hung out with our friends and talked.
