Indian Boy Names

So, I think the difference is that those of raised here in the US know the older names because those are the names we've grown up hearing (Rajiv is like Michael/Matthew), but we are not as aware of the newer names in India. I had only heard of maybe 2 or 3 of the names on the 2013 list: http://www.babycenter.in/l25008325/top-10-indian-boy-names-of-2013#/0

OP - that's a good source of names, I actually really like some of them.

Nice list, I know kids under the age of 5 with 6 of those names! I didn't realize they were currently popular names. I've noticed a large trend to names that start with A though.

PP, there's nothing wrong with the name Michael or Matthew. They're classics as is Rajiv. (You really sound like an insufferable know-it-all.)

Watch out for names that can be used to tease your child. This can be shortened to "Tush".

I like Jay. Surya is a name that I love, but I think Suryaa Bonali creates the popular impression that it is a girl name.

Ravi is nice too but any name with that a sound is likely to be mispronounced as an aa sound.
