So? They're nice names. |

The Milan I know is 36, the Nikhil I know is 50. Regardless, these are all really nice names. When I hear older names, I think more along the lines of Jitendra, Chandra, Jagdish, Ganshyam, Vasant, Dinesh, Manish, etc. |

You must know a lot of Indian kids. But seriously - you know a kid under 5 aged Rajiv? |
??? My nephew's name is Nikhil and he's 8. |
LOL! My 4 month old was almost named Rajiv. We went with another variant on Raj instead. Had no idea it couldn't be used anymore?? |

Please write the name and make a non-desi pronounce it. A masculine name like Karan (Son of Kunti) gets pronounced Karen (like Donna Karen).

So, I think the difference is that those of raised here in the US know the older names because those are the names we've grown up hearing (Rajiv is like Michael/Matthew), but we are not as aware of the newer names in India. I had only heard of maybe 2 or 3 of the names on the 2013 list: http://www.babycenter.in/l25008325/top-10-indian-boy-names-of-2013#/0 OP - that's a good source of names, I actually really like some of them. |
Yes indeed. Wouldn't want anyone mistakenly thinking your DS was allowed to eat in his room or anything. |
