DH's New Hobby is Driving Me Crazy

Let him fish. That is his therapy. My DH loves horseracing. He would handicap and watch racing 12 hrs a day if he didn't need to work and spend time with his family. He told me it helps keep him sane.

I had a co-worker whose Dad was the manager of where we worked. He liked to fish and he knew that I did also. He asked me, in front of his Dad, if I would go fishing with him. I felt pressured and went. Before I knew it we were fishing several times a week. He started smoking pot and then offered me some. I have smoked pot off and on throughout the years, so I smoked with him even though my wife is totally against the use of anything except prescription or over the counter drugs. Of course, I didn't tell her that we were smoke together, just the fishing part of it. Maybe your husband is stuck in a similar situation?

Oh, btw, I don't work there anymore or smoke or fish with him. I don't even talk with him anymore. Life goes on.

Follow him, track him

This does sound fishy.

Do you have iPhone tracker?

I would say i am an avid angler, never have i ran away from my fmaily for it. I get them involved.

aosl he might be telling you part of the truth. there is a website for hooking (no pun intended) up called plenty of fish so maybe he is fishing there.

1st look into it - sounds like a strange change in behavior

but then if you've got kids - a lesson learned from my almost mom whose husband hunted -
keep track of the number of hours he's out fishing, when you hit 48 you hand him the keys on Friday night and check yourself into a hotel to enjoy an entire weekend of peaceful alone time and maybe a massage

FWIW he does attempt to get the family in on the hobby. OP just thinks it's beneath her, or dirty, or something.

Maybe she just doesn't like it. My DH is pretty obsessed with fishing and would love it if I came with him, but I just don't enjoy it. I don't think it's "beneath me" or "dirty" or anything like that, I'm just not into it.
