Boss hates me b/c I am paid more $

Funny, whenever I end up with a direct who makes more than me I'm thrilled. It gives me leverage to demand a raise. It's only happened twice when I was making low six figures but it worked.

OP,

You appear to have very little experience of long-term dependent relationships such as a long-term partner or a child, which would enable you to better understand where your boss is coming from.

My friend founded a start-up where he supervises a woman much younger who is paid slightly more than he. I can tell you his wife is NOT happy with this situation, and I can totally understand why your boss has difficulty accepting your singleton lifestyle when she has to manage a household with less. Were she the most saintly woman, it would still hurt. This is not her fault, and not yours either.

Your vent just reeks of immaturity and lack of social skills, frankly. I am perfectly ready to believe that your boss is a dissatisfied, unhappy woman. Well, what are you going to do about it? Be professional, and stop expecting the royal treatment.

You both are pathetic.
OP, you need to find a man and maybe this will help you to be less involved in all these small details of your boss not being up to your ideal.
The boss needs to get a clue, too, as to why she is not being promoted and how she might become less pathetic.
But it is an overall pathetic world which is unfortunately very common in so many non profits.
