I consider her, and one of the women who just left Master Chef, as examples of what happens when you praise kids for having talent and not for effort. When the going gets tough they doubt themselves to a toxic degree. google Carol Dweck--it's her research. |
| I was glad to see Hernan go. I suspect he may be a little right that Sandhya is not quite as nice off camera as on, he just needed to STFU about blaming Sandhya for the suit. Most of them had crappy suits to work with, and he's such a narcissist that he thinks that Sandhya actually spent tons of time thinking about how to screw him in particular. Mitchell was also really annoyed about his suit, but he didn't fixate on who gave it to him, he just got down and did something with it. |
| Hernan was a liar, and a bad one. Coming back into the cry room and claiming that he wasn't sure whether he was on the top or bottom? Get real. |
| Is anyone watching the finale? What did you think of the final collections? |
|
fringe, fringe, fringe! Although the collection was beautiful and that organge final look was amazing on the model.
I am watching, but don't know the names of the designers and haven't watched the full season. I think my favorite collection was the first one the critiqued. The jewelry was great. I agree with the critiques about the denim collection - I would LOVE to own that pleated dress, but some of those looks did look very drag queen (the last dress) I know there is a 4th collection, but I missed it. |
| I can't believe Kini is out! |
|
I'm glad Sean won. It had to be either him or Kini, and since they just axed Kini...
Amanda's clothes are boring. |
| Sean has way too much fringe. Did he get the fringe idea from Amanda, who used fringe in a challenge before Sean started using it. |
|
I like Sean's collection although I agree - WAY too much fringe. Sean's fringe was kind of like hair, and Amanda's was more like you see in Western designs.
I wanted to like Amanda's collection but also thought it was boring. Her's was the only one where there was literally nothing that I wanted. I do love Kini though. And he's so unique as a person. I think he's going to end up being the winner in the long run. |
|
Kini, Amanda and Sean need to get together for a mega collection.
Otherwise I wanted Amanda to win. I wasn't thrilled with the fringe. |
| Anybody feel the whole thing was total manipulation? Char couldn't sew. Korina was a brat but Sean did the sewing for Char in the head to head challenge. Other wise the garment would have been falling apart as usual. Tim Gunn led both Kini and Sean astray with his advice -- to kini -- looks great. to sean -- more fringe. I thought Tim Gunn was going to design chars clothes for her. The whole thing seemed staged and totally motivated by failing ratings. |
|
What is the deal with Corina? She's still behaving badly based on the advanced previews of the reunion show. She's got a serious chip on her shoulder.
I love Tim Gunn, but he gives horrible advice. When Tim tells you to go in one direction, you should always go the opposite. It never fails, the judges always zig when he zags. This was a great group of finalists. Char was not the best and she didn't win. The top two were Amanda and Sean. It could have gone with either one and been a good decision. |
|
I liked Kini's but I did prefer Amanda's and Sean's. I actually think I would've preferred Amanda's, but Sean's was nice (though yes, too much fringe).
As for Char, I don't understand why Tim Gunn was so invested in her. As annoying and inappropriate as Corinna was, her initial objections made sense. She just got way too self-righteous and belligerent. She really came off as a narcissist. |
A mental problem? Or they told her to act this way? Can't think which.
|
| The only way Corina could possibly have redeemed herself was to go on the reunion show and say "I behaved badly under pressure. I'm sorry." But it doesn't look like she did that. |
