^^I have never heard of this happening. My son misbehaved a few times in the lower school. His teacher gave him appropriate punishments and made him apologize to the other student. The interesting thing for me, was how much time the teacher invested in letting him know that he was still a good student and a good person -- but that his behavior was unacceptable and would not be tolerated. I was truly impressed. My son gained maturity and confidence as a result. He respects the teachers enough that he really listens to what they have to say and works hard to use the strategies that they suggest.
I have never heard of any odd forms of punishment myself. |
You're a bigot. Stop it now. |

Boo Hoo! |
I have heard this rumor about another Catholic school. I think PP has their schools mixed up. |
Classy. |
^^^ The boo-hoo eye roller has an inferiority complex .... And a bigot problem. |
Ad hominem. |
I have a co-worker who sent DS here, and he really liked it. I think there're strong academics and good athletics too. |
How many boys are in the primary years? How many classes of 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade? |
I am Catholic, and everyone I've met who is Opus Dei (lay people, priests) are socially awkward. Imagine if you sat to have a beer with Rick Santorum - nice person, good hearted, sincere, but socially inept. I think it's because they are struggling to not tell you you are going to hell. I would not send my kids there, and they are in 'regular' Catholic schools. I'd be concerned about them being constantly judged if they were not Opus Dei. |
wondering how they handle kids with learning disabilities. I have a child who is above average in verbal and cognitive abilities but has a processing delay. |
Can non-Catholic, Christian boys be admitted? |
I'm sure that The Heights, like all Catholic Schools, has admitted some non-Catholics. Especially if there's another factor like athletic prowess involved. But there are lots of non-Catholic alternatives. One wonders why a school like The Heights would be attractive to non-Catholics. This is a school that serves a particular group that sends their children there so that they can be part of that group. |
It's 40% non-Catholic. |
