Mommy needs a break. If you could go away solo for a weekend, where would you go?

Personally I wouldn't fly out to the west coast or Vegas. You'll spend you 1st and 3rd days on a plane.

No. It's more cult-like than relaxing spa retreat. I vote Bedford Springs-- not too far, nice spa, etc.

I took a three day yoga retreat last year that was amazing. I felt totally spoiled and very good about myself.

I would go here:

But maybe wait until fall/winter!

Somewhere in Maine, Vermont, or New Hampshire, when the leaves are changing.

I just spent several days in Austin, Texas solo. I loved it. Good food. Interesting stuff to do. Lots of people around to talk to. Everyone was really friendly.

I miss getting to wander around cities on my own, so I'd get a nice hotel in Philly or New York or Boston (somewhere quick to get to) and have a lot of nice long walks, window shopping, museums, dining at the bar of a good restaurant with a good book, etc. And oh yes, massages and sleeping in. But I'd rather be in a city than out in the countryside.

I would not want to waste a minute traveling and would choose a nice hotel with a good spa that is local.

There is a Certifikid deal for the Salamander Resort today. It's supposed to be pretty awesome and not a long drive away.

Puerto Rico Conquistador spa suite.
I like the beach, but hotels with spas are very pricey near here, I might pop down to Hilton Head or Charleston area.
New Orleans is very appealing especially if I could get a friend to come, I've never been. Eat, walk, drink, live music, repeat. Vegas is a moral hell hole but you could go to the Olympic Gardens and pay a guy to bathe in front of you (or so I hear)

I wouldn't be inclined to go very far-- I would hate to take up relaxing time traveling, but that is really a personal preference.

I would go to the Hyatt Cambridge.
If I really didn't want to drive I would go to Mandarin Oriental downtown, or possible The Lorien in Alexandria.
