| Nice not hop ice |
| At least we finally figured out who peed on the Dude's rug. That painting really tied the room together, man. |
I know, right? Let me post a link to my future $3 million pied-à-terre in Paris… gag. |
| Guy pissing is a good metaphor |
|
| OP, where will you be working? Venice is great, but too far for a reasonable commute to downtown, even Beverly Hills/Westwood can be an hour drive from Venice during rush hour. I think its doable only if you are working in Santa Monica. |
| Love it- Very CA. I live in a traditional colonial here and dream of living in a lofty space. It's a ton of $ for a 2 bedroom, but I think that's the norm there. |
|
I love it, OP! I grew up in DC and have always lived in Colonials.
We go to La Jolla every summer and we always stay in these style beach homes. The open space and light is fab. Also-- we don't have all out crap with us on vacation and only my favorite outfits in the closet so it feels so great. |
|
Knowing zilch about SoCal, I have nothing to say about location, but beautiful house!
When will you begin taking guests?
|

Are there any UMs weighing here? I mean Venice is cool but also profoundly sketchy in a random, "today's the day the crackhead will beat the crap out of my kid on the boardwalk before the police show up to haul him away" way. You get a pied-a-scare.
Sorry to burst the bubble but there's a reason why rich, single people live there, not families. |
Yea. I can't speak to location, but I love the house. I'd take it in La Jolla, Del Mar or Solano beach! |
| OP, you will love it out there. Venice has always combined the upscale with the down-and-out, all in close proximity to the beach. However, the past two years have seen a definite swing toward high-end gentrification as companies like Google and Snapchat have built a larger presence in Santa Monica; and the young, intelligent, and affluent employees/entrepreneurs of the so-called "Silicon Beach" tech crowd have moved in. I do not think you can really go wrong there. California needs its new "economic pioneers" like you to lead the State into its Golden future (sorry that I could not think of a Bear Republic or Junipero Serra reference to fit in there -- love my 4th grade California history and those outdoor education classes.). |
|
Remember to pack water when you move. They are plum out in Cali.
Extra long garden hose would be handy too, to keep flames at bay. In all seriousness, I am very worries about this historic drought in Cali?? |
Excellent, then please use your power, intelligence, and influence to work on the water issues for the American West. Congress should focus more on these issues, and those of us enjoying a great life in the West would appreciate your focus on us! |
|
Come out to Santa Monica, but it is pricier.
