Why do people say beauty is a third-tier quality?

17:46 here. And I say all of that as someone who didn't grow up as a "have" and whose parents didn't pay for college (or even support me while I was in college).

I did it all on my own. And then worked full time and put myself through grad school.

It seems like there's this rush to diminish the importance of personal beauty. But in life beauty can open many doors, professionally and personally. When my husband first saw me I guarantee he wasn't focused on my soul or brains. He thought I looked great, and now we've been happily married for almost 10 years.

Write back when he finds someone else more "interesting." Cause, sweetie, that's your future.

Bitter much?

Ha! I love the fact that I only had the tolerance for college for a year and managed to crawl my way through the ranks. I now own my own business and employ 27 people.

It has helped tremendously that I'm easy on the eyes. The golden ticket is looking good while being able to spit out a coherent sentence.

You look nice. You have no idea where you would be if you were ugly. Assuming that your look made your life easier is just that: an assumption. If you are clever enough, you'd probably be in the same spot you are now even if you didn't have the looks. That's why all the really successful people in the world are intelligent > good looking.
