I'm calling it. Weiner is going to kill Don Draper

This is the final season. They are doing it like Breaking Bad -- a split final season. There are 3 more episodes in this installment and then in comes back during the fall with the final run.

That's what they did on the Sopranos finale, essentially. It was thought-provoking, but shouldn't be repeated on Mad Men because it's a bit of a cop out. The whole point of the show is seeing the rise and fall of Don Draper (and all those around him of course). We need an ending.

Me too, but years in the future. Kind of like the last episode of Will and Grace.

Betty- rich socialite on her 4th husband.
Peggy-running her own multi-million dollar ad agency.
Pete-alcoholic on his 3rd wife who spends all his money
Roger- in a nursing home flirting with all the nurses
Don- washed up alcoholic who commits suicide by jumping out of a window of the ad agency

Anybody watch Six Feet Under? They did a look into the future in a pretty creative way. Loved it.

The ending is that all through out once life there will be rises and falls and life will just keep happening.

No. Tony died. That is what the fading to black was. According to the creator.

That might be the best ending ever.

It could be rise and fall or it could be rise, fall, and redemption.

What's your source PP, because the link below is pretty clear. David Chase does NOT know whether he died or not.

Agree, that was a good one.

Just watched tonight's episode. When did Don and Megan reconcile? I thought last time he was in LA she kicked him out and basically said it was over. Also, was that bedroom sequence real or did Don dream it?

That's not at all clear from the article you posted. The journalist is the one who says "Chase deosn't know." He is the showrunner, he knows what his intent was, and its clear he wants this to be debated online forever, and he's getting his wish.

Here is a source for PP's comment:
http://masterofsopranos.wordpress.com/the-sopranos-definitive-explanation-of-the-end/

which includes other quotes of Chase's about it, like:

Chase: There are no esoteric clues in there. No Da Vinci Code. Everything that pertains to that episode was in that episode. And it was in the episode before that and the one before that and seasons before this one and so on. There had been indications of what the end is like. Remember when Jerry Torciano was killed? Silvio was not aware that the gun had been fired until after Jerry was on his way down to the floor. That’s the way things happen: It’s already going on by the time you even notice it.

Question: Are you saying…?

Chase: I’m not saying anything. I’m not trying to be coy. It’s just that I think that to explain it would diminish it.

That would be fun to see! Peggy as creative director of SC&P a and Joan as the managing partner. Betty selling real estate also sounds like an appropriate ending for her I also want to see Pete and Peggy get together for real. I love them together.

FYI: The second half of season 7 won't air until spring 2015.
