I thought WMST was closing. Or is it just moving from Bladensburg Road?

Haven't heard anything about them closing, but it's possible they are moving.

I don't think the numbers can be right. We're #6 on the waiting list for 5th grade at Basis, according to myschool.org, and we haven't heard anything yet.

I agree that the BASIS numbers don't make sense because BASIS was only admitting 5th and 6th graders and the numbers are mostly for upper grades 7th-10th. And they did not admit 7th - 9th last year either....

So when someone said there were 6,000 applications for 1,000 places at Kipp they were not being entirely accurate - some Kipp schools still have places and no waitlist?

Do the upper grade numbers reflect spaces opened when people dropped out/didn't reenroll?

Are all of those KIPP schools listed as "No Tier" new?

Not so much - they typically don't accept kids in the upper grades. They start out with a big cohort in 5th and it gets a little smaller in the upper grades, they don't necessarily replace those who've left.

Has anyone found waitlist info for charter schools that shows if any filled or waitlisted spots are held by siblings? I’ve seen it posted by a few schools (MV for example) but not all in one place. It didn’t appear to be included in the PCSB website's posted list data above.

According to the Head of School, these were the numbers from last year, not this year, which is why it says that they accepted older students. So the Charter Board made a mistake it seems so the BASIS info is totally inaccurate.

Why is LAMB not on this list?

LAMB is an acronym for Latin American Montessori Bilingual. It's number 83 on the list.

In that case, anyone know how far down they are in the WL for 5th?

That could still actually be true -- you apply to a specific grade level and campus, not to the entire network at once. There could be some locations and grade levels with long wait lists, and other locations and grade levels with no wait list.
