| NP and my husband does this kind of thing too. Now, I just have to plan my time under the assumption that I will get zero help and then I'm pleasantly surprised if he actually does wipe down a bathroom. Or, I tell him that he is in charge of entertaining kids out of the house while I do the party stuff. |

Hahahhaha, mine is like this as well. I love him so very much, but he cannot prioritize to save his life.
He does have ADD, so I think that's partly it. But also lack of experience. Up until me, he's always lived with male roommates and preparing for guests was a little. . . different. And his mom isn't very domestic either, so he didn't learn when he was a kid. And don't even get me started on how he packs. I finally put my foot down and told him that he gets ONE suitcase and ONE carry-on bag and if I can't lift either bag, I get to edit what's in there. I pack for DC and myself and our stuff combined is less than what DH brings. Last Christmas, he literally just dumped his entire underwear and sock drawer in his bag. For a week-long trip to the beach, to a house with a washer and dryer. Makes me crazy. |

This is my DH. He does this every single trip. He talks on and on about how he will be packed and needs his rest, etc. and then will pack at 2 a.m. after I've packed everyone else and am in bed. So annoying! |

| I have the same situation with my spouse. The kicker is that he is almost always the one to invite people over since having virtually all preparation dumped on me is not something I enjoy. |

Mine is like that. I'll spend my morning busting my tail getting the house ready for company. He'll go out and do the weekly grocery shopping and bring home many bags of food, laying them everywhere 15 minutes before the guests are due to arrive. I then have those to put away, too.
Or I'll sweep off the patio and doorstep. Next thing you know he's blowing leaves out of the gutter and all over my clean patio. All I have to do is clean a bathroom and someone is in there stinking it up.... The kids, too. I just spent a good chunk of a day cleaning out our playroom. It looked good only yesterday afternoon. I just peaked in there this morning and WTF??? It's pointless. I have come to accept the fact that this house is just never, not ever, going to look pristine for longer than 5 minutes. It's just not in the cards for us. In our next house, I plan on having those red museum ropes on some of the rooms and making them off limits. I'm only half way joking.. |
