I think this is a big up and comer. More IB families are attending and even OOBs are rating this higher than Ludlow. Last year this school saw some of the highest gains in testing scores (and they were only a few percentages below Maury). More and more families are happily staying beyond kindergarten. The new principal is amazing; the teachers are top notch. I see really good things happening here.

I have to go with Bethune as well. At least if you go by the uptick in talking about it on DCUM.

Bruce Monroe. Dual langauge, solid principal, eager to reach out to the community and open to gentrifiers (sorry, but I have heard some negative things about Tubman administration being very anti-PTA when it was headed by a white guy). I think Bruce Monroe is becoming the back up for folks not getting into Powell, marie Reed, Oyster etc.

Can the word "gentrifier" not be used to describe a high SES AA? Is Tubman not welcoming to whites or gentrifiers (of any race)?
